Installation

How do I set up and use SvaraScript?

Please refer to the guide videos on the installation page.

Installation is not working for me

If you’ve followed the guide videos, and it still doesn’t work, please try restarting as a first resort and then see if SvaraScript shows up on your keyboard list.

If that doesn’t solve, please look up your problem online with regard to ‘installing keyboard layouts’ (Windows)/’installing keylayouts’ (Mac), and look or ask for a solution.

Beyond this, I unfortunately don’t have the resources to help users out individually, but I will be happy to provide a refund if it doesn’t work out for you.

A certain letter does not work

This can happen with certain versions of some software (for example, Microsoft Word 2010). Unfortunately, the issue is with the way that software works. So far, I’m only able to suggest a workaround - you can type the same letter in Notepad or some other software and copy it over.

Notation

How do I make a notation in a tala there is no template for?

For personal use: in many situations you can adapt existing templates to other talas. For example, you can use the tishra gati adi template for khanda gati adi, leaving one cell blank in each beat.

For professional use: columns can be added or removed by right-clicking on the column letter at the top and selecting ‘insert’ or ‘delete’. However, this can disrupt the printing layout. You can adjust column widths to ensure that the notation fits one page’s width.

How do I make sure lines stay together on the same page when printing?

Please go to View -> ‘Print Layout’ mode in Excel. Then right-click wherever you want a new page to begin and select ‘insert page break’. To change existing page breaks, please right-click anywhere and choose ‘reset all page breaks’ and begin again.

Can I use the notation templates with different page sizes (other than A4/Letter)?

You can adjust page size in Excel, and then adjust column widths so that the notation fits the page properly.
